Women's Wisdom as an Evolutionary Imperative

"What if women’s wisdom is simple as this: It’s sensing what’s becoming and loving it into full healthy life. As women we give birth to life, to our selves, children, to a warm home, and to our friends and loved ones. Our wisdom is the inner knowing that it takes to guide these births. Without our innate wisdom our species would not thrive!"

Passion for a FairyTale Wedding

Last night my niece Kaitlyn married Justin in the wedding of her dreams. In Napa Valley, at Sattui Winery with dinner in a candlit wine cellar we were all enchanted. (It was more beautiful than the great hall in Beauty and the Beast!) And the flower girls - Kaitlyn did a lot of  baby sitting to put herself through school so she had 6 of them - all in white leotards with pink tutus, white headbands with beads and flowers and pink ribbons.

Passion and Purpose: Find Your Theme

Great questions arrived in my inbox last night after our Passion and Purpose Telecall yesterday with special guest Julie Watts. Julie, we loved the story of your epiphany! Your feminine wisdom shines through.

And Julie, thanks for your vulnerability. When you told us about your calendar full of only "good girl" events I felt for you.. I don't know about you but my good girl is such a sweet one and at the same time can really get in the way of doing all that is mine to do.

The girl who silenced the world for 5 minutes

Tears filled my eyes as I listened to the girl who silenced the world for 5 minutes speak to the UN. She is a wise feminine leader who cares and found the courage to speak from her heart. Powerful! Even though I watched this before - a month or two ago - today, at the beginning of the new decade, I found myself moved in a new way.  After the video ended, I asked myself, what is mine to say and am i saying it? Suddenly I am curious - where do I lack the courage to speak with this kind of forthright honesty and care?

We have only this moment sparkling like a star in our hand!

Begin doing what you want to do now. We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment sparkling like a star in our hand -- and melting like a snowflake. - Marie Beynon Ray

This quote touches me every day. This, simply, is leadership. Posted above my desk, it helps me remember to do what i most want to do - now! And to do it in a way that helps and nurtures me as much as I help and nurture others. Even with inspiration like this, sometimes though i need more to keep me on track.

Women as Business Women

Every week another woman tells me that she isn't really a business woman - that she is JUST doing something that she loves and doing it in her own wierd way. Some women tell me that they don't really trust themselves. They don't want to do what they've done in the past but they don't know what else to do. They get ideas but they don't know how to implement them. They need a career but they want it driven by their desires, they want it to give them pleasure and bring good things to their family and life. They are smarter than they think they are.
